Simone Biles

Simone Biles, a gymnast American, won her 20th medal in the world championships when Team USA won their seventh world title in a row at Antwerp Belgium's World Championship on October 4. Simone Biles is among the most acclaimed gymnast of all time having won 33 medals in international competitions, as well as at the Olympics. Biles did the vault with such difficulty that it was the first vault a woman ever did on an international level. Previously called Biles' Yurchenko double pike vault the skill has been renamed the Biles II. On October 6, the world-record holder will compete at her personal all-around contest. This is her first event on the international stage after 2021. In 1997, within Columbus Ohio Simone was taken from the house of her birth mother who struggled with addiction and placed in foster care together with her siblings. Ron an ex- Air Force vet and Nellie who was a nurse with a retirement, were the primary caregivers for Simone at the age of six years old. Additionally, they adopted the smaller sister Adria. Simone along with her other siblings were taken in by their great aunt.
